The Gretna Green Candle Company
Our candles are poured here in the heart of the historic village of Gretna Green. We were initially inspired by the romantic history and tradition, with both the Famous Blacksmiths Shop and Historic Marriage House of Gretna Hall making our small village of Gretna Green the authentic home for runaway couples and anvil weddings for over 270 years.
We are continually inspired by the many weddings that surround us each day, from the elegant horse and carriage carrying newly married couples past our home, to the sound of bagpipes drifting through the air from the nearby Gretna Hall Hotel and the iconic Gretna Green Blacksmiths Shop, each one celebrating the joy of a new union. Gretna Green truly is the most romantic place to live, and we feel deeply proud to call it home. Surrounded by the breathtaking Dumfriesshire countryside, we also draw endless inspiration from the natural beauty of Scotland itself.
Our hand-poured soy wax candles offer a long-lasting, beautiful aroma that fills your home with captivating fragrance. Each candle is crafted using only high-quality fragrance oils that are paraben-free and vegan friendly.
We use soy wax blended with coconut wax, as it is vegan-friendly, fully sustainably produced, and biodegradable, unlike many mass-produced paraffin-based candles, which are made using products derived from the petrochemical industry.
As a small business making small batch, hand -poured candles, we can provide bespoke personalised candles for weddings, so your big day is uniquely perfumed. If you have a favourite fragrance we would be delighted to work with you to provide all this in your very favourite scent. Your guests would also receive personalised Gretna Green Candles wedding favours with the same fragrance, so the scent will live on in their own homes as a memory of a wonderful day.
Our luxury candles are carefully hand-poured into elegant white tins, thoughtfully chosen for their sustainability. Each tin is fully recyclable, allowing you to enjoy our candles with the peace of mind that they leave minimal environmental impact. Once your candle has burned down, the tin can also be creatively repurposed for storage or decorative use, a beautiful way to extend its life beyond the flame.
